august 20

the presentations went great ! Cicely and I got great reviews from everyone. Besides our presentation, my favorite was kevin king's project. I think he did a great job. So i guess the internship is over ='[ . so sad . this has been an amazing experience. i know for a fact that i want to go to RIT after high school, but right now i am going to focus on deciding what i want to major in. i am glad i applied for the internship and i recommend this program to anyone. i will miss the interns so very much and i will also miss the professors, students, and everyone who helped me along the way. farewell ! ; )

August 19

1. Today i had a meeting with Dr. Alan Nye from Mechanical Engineering. He told me some things i need to know about the mechanical engineering programs at RIT and what types of courses i need to take and co-ops. I'm really interested in mechanical engineering and Dr. Nye is really nice ! The hard thing is deciding if i want to major in it.

2. Me and Cicely practiced our presentation in front of the other interns and Joe and Bob. We got a lot of compliments from the other interns. Thanks guys ;)

3. We also gave our presentation in front of the MVRL (multidisciplinary vision research lab)professors. I am appreciative of their criticism because i can use it in further presentations but I was really uncomfortable with making last minute changes to our presentation. I have been practicing for the past couple of days and it is kind of hard to change our talk and remember it when our presentation is tomorrow.

4. Lastly, tomorrow is the final day of the internship and i can't say that I'm happy about it ! This has been an amazing experience and i know I've made life long friends so it is going to be hard to say goodbye ! =[ But I took in some many things that will better my future work.

P.S - I hope the presentations are great tomorrow !

So today i went to a Hawaiian Luau and i won the best dressed award. of course ; ] (hula skirt and flower top) hahaha

Cicely and I had major technical difficulties with the videos in our powerpoint presentation >=[
I don't understand why powerpoint hates us !

P.S - I'm considering Imaging Science as a major for RIT ... =O !!! I'm still extremely undecided about what i want to go to RIT for but I'm trying to narrow down my choices.

Went to the Undergrad Symposium for a presentation called "Facebook Sustainability".
We also seen Rebecca Moore's (intern in Space Weather) poster.

Piyush's last day was today. He is going back to California for two weeks so we aren't going to see him anymore. (unless we visit him)

TGIF !

August 12

Today Cicely and I led the weekly MVRL meeting. We chose an article called "Action Video Game Experience Alters the Spatial Resolution of Vision" by C.S. Green and D. Bavelier from the University of Rochester. I think the meeting went well. We changed the "normal meeting" settings and we put everyone in groups of four to let them discuss the questions we wrote on the white board. It was actually fun taking charge of the meeting for once.

P.S - We chose a video game article because it relates to our final project; Novices and Experts: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
